* win32: only count subdirectories if necessaryRon Yorston2023-01-231-0/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Commit 7fb95a2a5 (win32: try to get link count for directories) allowed stat(2) to report accurate values of st_nlink for directories. There are only a couple of places in busybox-w32 where these values are required. Disable counting of subdirectories by default and only enable it when necessary. Microsoft kindly provide directories to test edge cases like this: C:/Windows/WinSxS (contains many subdirectories) C:/Windows/WinSxS/Manifests (contains many files) Adds 84-112 bytes.

| * ls: don't output any colors with TERM=dumbSören Tempel2021-06-041-4/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The TERM variable is usually set to "dumb" to indicate that the terminal does not support any ANSI escape sequences. Presently, ls does not honor this variable and outputs colors anyhow which results in unreadable output, unless the user explicitly disables colors using `ls --color=never`. The rational behind this change is that ls should "just work" by default, even on dumb terminals. For this reason, this patch adds a check which additionally consults the TERM variable before printing any colors. This is analogous to the existing check for ensuring that standard output is a tty. As such, colors can still be forced with `--color=force`, even if TERM is set to dumb. function old new delta is_TERM_dumb - 40 +40 ls_main 579 598 +19 .rodata 103246 103251 +5 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ (add/remove: 1/0 grow/shrink: 2/0 up/down: 64/0) Total: 64 bytes Signed-off-by: Sören Tempel <soeren+git@soeren-tempel.net> Signed-off-by: Denys Vlasenko <vda.linux@googlemail.com>
* | win32: make readlink(2) implementation unconditionalRon Yorston2021-02-121-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | There doesn't seem to be much advantage in having readlink(2) as a configuration option. Making it unconditional reduces divergence from upstream and allows the removal of a check for ENOSYS that's been in busybox-w32 since the start.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Normally 'ls' displays paths exactly as the user enters them: $ ls .//file .//file In busybox-w32 paths using backslash as a separator are displayed in a form that can't be reused as input to the shell: $ ls .\\file .\file Allow backslashes to be replaced with forward slashes if the environment variable BB_FIX_BACKSLASH is set to 1. See GitHub issue #196.

* | win32: implement readlink(2)Ron Yorston2019-03-061-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Provide an implementation of readlink(2) based on code from Git for Windows. This version only supports symbolic links, not mount points, as the latter seem to work well enough as-is. With this change the ls and stat applets can display the targets of symbolic links. The readlink applet has been enabled in the default configuration.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Modify the WIN32 implementation of stat(2) to fetch inode number, device id and number of hardlinks. This requires opening a handle to the target file so it will be slower. A number of features can be enabled or start to work: - tar can detect if an archive is being stored in itself; - find can support the -inum and -links options; - ls can display inode numbers; - diff can detect attempts to compare a file with itself; - du has better support for hardlinked files; - cp can detect attempts to copy a file over itself.

* | ls, stat: don't try to read symlinksRon Yorston2018-04-101-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Currently the WIN32 emulation of readlink(2) fails with ENOSYS. This causes ugly error messages in ls and stat. Don't even try calling readlink(2) and skip any code that uses the name it doesn't return.

This effect is CPU-agnostic. function old new delta getopt32 1350 22 -1328 vgetopt32 - 1318 +1318 getopt32long - 24 +24 tftpd_main 562 567 +5 scan_recursive 376 380 +4 collect_cpu 545 546 +1 date_main 1096 1095 -1 hostname_main 262 259 -3 uname_main 259 255 -4 setpriv_main 362 358 -4 rmdir_main 191 187 -4 mv_main 562 558 -4 ipcalc_main 548 544 -4 ifenslave_main 641 637 -4 gzip_main 192 188 -4 gunzip_main 77 73 -4 fsfreeze_main 81 77 -4 flock_main 318 314 -4 deluser_main 337 333 -4 cp_main 374 370 -4 chown_main 175 171 -4 applet_long_options 4 - -4 xargs_main 894 889 -5 wget_main 2540 2535 -5 udhcpc_main 2767 2762 -5 touch_main 436 431 -5 tar_main 1014 1009 -5 start_stop_daemon_main 1033 1028 -5 sed_main 682 677 -5 script_main 1082 1077 -5 run_parts_main 330 325 -5 rtcwake_main 459 454 -5 od_main 2169 2164 -5 nl_main 201 196 -5 modprobe_main 773 768 -5 mkdir_main 160 155 -5 ls_main 568 563 -5 install_main 773 768 -5 hwclock_main 411 406 -5 getopt_main 622 617 -5 fstrim_main 256 251 -5 env_main 198 193 -5 dumpleases_main 635 630 -5 dpkg_main 3991 3986 -5 diff_main 1355 1350 -5 cryptpw_main 233 228 -5 cpio_main 593 588 -5 conspy_main 1135 1130 -5 chpasswd_main 313 308 -5 adduser_main 887 882 -5 addgroup_main 416 411 -5 ftpgetput_main 351 345 -6 get_terminal_width_height 242 234 -8 expand_main 690 680 -10 static.expand_longopts 18 - -18 static.unexpand_longopts 27 - -27 mkdir_longopts 28 - -28 env_longopts 30 - -30 static.ifenslave_longopts 34 - -34 mv_longopts 46 - -46 static.rmdir_longopts 48 - -48 packed_usage 31739 31687 -52 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ (add/remove: 2/8 grow/shrink: 3/49 up/down: 1352/-1840) Total: -488 bytes text data bss dec hex filename 915681 485 6880 923046 e15a6 busybox_old 915428 485 6876 922789 e14a5 busybox_unstripped Signed-off-by: Denys Vlasenko <vda.linux@googlemail.com>

* | Use %I64* formats with MinGW instead of %ll* formatsJohannes Schindelin2017-07-181-1/+1
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | The MSVC runtime uses the format specified %I64 for 64-bit data types; It does not understand e.g. %llu for unsigned long longs. However, mingw-w64 provides a compatibility mode in its runtime wrapper which can be activated by defining the constant __USE_MINGW_ANSI_STDIO=1 in which case we must refrain from overriding the %ll* formats. This fixes quite a couple of compile warnings when building with the mingw-w64 compiler. Signed-off-by: Johannes Schindelin <johannes.schindelin@gmx.de>
* ls: fix support for long options when FEATURE_LS_COLOR is deselectedLaurent Bercot2017-05-261-6/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | Declaration of ls_longopts and initialization of applet_long_options were incorrectly guarded with ENABLE_FEATURE_LS_COLOR; that yielded a "ls: NO_OPT: \xff" error message when long options were selected and color support was not. This patch ensures long options are initialized separately from color support. Signed-off-by: Laurent Bercot <ska-dietlibc@skarnet.org> Signed-off-by: Denys Vlasenko <vda.linux@googlemail.com>
